With Our Employees
We are building networks of practitioners in operations & supply chain and products & packaging with representatives from each of our global business units and corporate functional disciplines. With these connections established, we can address specific issues like eco-design, green materials and sourcing. Furthermore, identifying appropriate candidates for training will be simplified as our networks establish a direct connection to the people who can benefit from the training most.
To facilitate communication across our networks and throughout Newell Rubbermaid, we have developed an internal SharePoint site to enable discussion and sharing of information about environmental sustainability. Our site provides information and work space for each of the functional areas so employees can access the information they need anytime.
With Our Consumer Communities
We understand the importance that building external relationships will play in allowing us to achieve our environmental sustainability vision. Therefore, in addition to our fundamental emphasis on understanding consumer insights, we continually strive to align with and engage our major retail customers on green initiatives. We also plan to align with other key external stakeholders, such as environmental sustainability business organizations and interest groups, to help us move our business forward with new partnerships as we further develop our environmental sustainability efforts and goals.
Last year we published the 2009 Environmental Sustainability Report, the first of its kind for the company. We are currently in the process of preparing our 2010 report to document Newell Rubbermaid’s ongoing environmental sustainability achievements.
