Program History
From our humble beginnings as a manufacturer of curtain rods to becoming a global marketer of consumer and commercial products of leading Brands That Matter™, Newell Rubbermaid touches millions of people every day where they work, live and play.

Since its inception in 2007, Investing In Community has assisted more than 300 organizations in affecting change in our communities. Through key partnerships, Investing In Community has ensured that infants and young children are nurtured and educated; and that students in grades K-12 receive the tools they need to succeed by supporting curriculum and technology enhancements and providing supplies to their classrooms. Investing In Community collaborates with organizations and accredited professional, trade and vocational schools and supports skill-based educational and training programs to ensure there is a skilled workforce in the future.

Making an impact in our communities includes investing our time and abilities as well as making financial contributions. One of the Investing In Community objectives is to foster the spirit of giving back by motivating and enabling employees to effectively volunteer under one specific cause. We support these efforts by hosting The Annual Week of Caring, a week long series of volunteer events at our company locations. Each day within the given work week is dedicated to various service projects at a specific nonprofit organization. Employees have a menu of opportunities, both on campus and offsite, to willingly give of their time and skills to local nonprofit organizations. We give in various ways throughout the year, but we believe our week long campaign says with the strongest voice that our company and its employees are committed to making a difference in the lives of others.

Through Investing in Community, we will harness the philanthropic efforts of all of our employees and brands to make strategic investments in early childhood development, in-classroom education, professional skill development and employee volunteerism.
