Newell Rubbermaid’s Marketing Management Development Program (Marketing MDP) is a critical element in our goal to become a best-in-class consumer branding organization. The success of our company starts with our people, and this two-year program was established to grow proven leaders into talented marketing professionals at Newell Rubbermaid.

Responsibilities you may have during your program include:

Consumer and Market Insights: design and execute qualitative and quantitative consumer research, and analyze business results and key drivers including market share, pricing, merchandising and product sell-through

Marketing Communications: create brand-centric consumer promotions, and direct marketing and public relations campaigns, develop Web sites, and design product packaging

Product Management: plan product lines, identify product needs based upon consumer insights, develop line extensions and interface with Research & Development

Channel Marketing: develop account-specific merchandising strategy, plan promotions and develop customer-specific plans from annual brand plans

To set you up for success, you will have a mentor and a supervisor tracking your progress as well as continuous interaction with other Marketing MDP employees. You will attend one multi-day group training per year where you will learn from experienced lecturers and hands-on, interactive sessions. In addition to the group training, you can take classes relevant to your functional area at one of our training centers.

Our Program
As a Marketing MDP employee, you will complete two, one-year rotations with one or more global business units to will learn about our company’s initiatives and how we work together on a daily basis. Assignments are structured to enhance your readiness for a successful marketing career at Newell Rubbermaid while making a strong contribution to the business.

Upon successful completion of the program, you will rotate into an associate brand marketing position based on current openings and business needs.

Marketing MDP employees are passionate individuals who work successfully alone or on a team. Candidates with marketing-related work experience and a strong GPA are preferred and proven leadership abilities are a must. Other desired skills include a record of problem solving, decision making, collaboration, achieving results, effective project management and a desire to make a strong contribution in a continuous learning environment.
