  • 2009 – For more than 25 years, the Lenox Hackman has demonstrated the tremendous quality and durability of Lenox products with extreme cutting demonstrations. He has cut in half more than 500 cars, a train, bus, airplane, house, boxcar and an armored car. In 2009, Lee Hackman Breton will travel the world demonstrating the new Lenox T2 technology reciprocating and hacksaw blades. The Hackman World Tour includes cutting in half a double-decker bus in the U.K., a Zamboni in Canada and a Jeepney in the Philippines. Hackman will perform other extreme cuts in Germany, France, Sweden, Malaysia, Japan, Brazil, Mexico and the U.S. Follow Hackman as he takes on the world at cutsomething.com .
  • April 2008 – Tools, Hardware & Commercial Products expanded into a near-neighbor category with the acquisition of Technical Concepts, a leading global provider of innovative restroom hygiene systems for several high-growth segments of the away-from-home washroom category. Technical Concepts’ products include touch-free and automated health, wellness and odor control solutions, as well as proprietary refills, which are a key component of recurring revenue.
  • 2008 - Lenox developed the Lenox Industrial Tools 301 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race to honor Lenox customers - users and suppliers of industrial tools. They are celebrating their heroism with the Lenox Extra Mile Hero program to celebrate customers who perform physically demanding jobs and still find time to give back to their communities. This program supports the brand’s philosophy of going the Extra Mile in product performance and service to customers.
  • May 2008 – Shur-Line launched a new Web site, Shurline.com, designed to inspire and educate do-it-yourself painters.  Featuring an interactive paint and tool calculator, an inspiration gallery and an Ask the Expert section, the site provides end-users with everything they need to get started on their next painting project.
  • July 2008 - Irwin held the “Tell Us Your Irwin Vise-Grip Story” Web promotion whereby consumers were asked to share the different and unique ways they have used Vise-Grip locking pliers or wrenches to solve various problems either in the workplace or at home.  The promotion was held entirely on-line and the winning stories were voted on by the public based on their originality, creativity and fit with theme.  The winning story teller will be announced in February and will receive a custom made Vise-Grip Chopper by East Coast Custom Cycles.
